MDS

The simple design of this equipment comprises of a small plastic ramp containing a central aluminum plate positioned at the entrance to a parking area which will detect any magnetic attachment to the car’s chassis – the usual method of attaching car bombs to vehicles intended for detonation via remote radio control once inside the parking area.

This detection system known as MDS has been designed for automatic vehicle chassis inspection at the entrance to private or official high security areas without the need for additional personnel who formerly used to check vehicle undersides by means of a now obselete system of mirrors. Such checks were extremely limited in their scope involving a time consuming, highly labour intensive yet often hasty inspection at a specific time resulting in a largely ineffective screening procedure.

The ‘MDS’ has an integrated frequency jammer which is activated as soon as the system detects a static magnetic field, thereby preventing signals sent via radio from detonating explosives concealed on the vehicle once inside the security zone.
